Teaming up with Envizi on energy intelligence will help building owners & operators

Wattwatchers and Envizi have announced a collaboration on data-driven solutions for managing energy better in commercial and industrial buildings, including multi-site portfolios.

This post, meanwhile, is a quick right-now exploration of the ‘why’ for this new partnership, which is based on the high level of complementarity between the Envizi and Wattwatchers businesses and their respective ‘PropTech meets EnergyTech’ technologies.

The match is well documented by these slides, the first from Envizi on the software side, and the second from Wattwatchers, which brings hardware into the equation for monitoring and controlling electricity in real-time through the cloud.

FOOTNOTE: The Wattwatchers and Envizi founding teams first met each other over a decade ago circa 2007, when both were early-stage Australian technology companies. They’ve stayed in touch over the years, while evolving on their different paths, and now the times have come right for collaboration. Wattwatchers’ business development lead for commercial and industrial applications, James Clements, previously worked in a business development role with Envizi.
