Simble Energy App first third-party option certified for ARENA-backed My Energy Marketplace

MEM ANNOUNCEMENT

Longstanding Wattwatchers software-as-a-service partner Simble Group (ASX:SIS) has announced its early involvement in the Wattwatchers-led My Energy Marketplace (MEM) project, which is being supported by grant funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA)*.

This means that Simble’s Energy App will be available as a certified third-party app choice for electricity consumers participating in the MEM, an $8.2 million project that will roll out to at least 5000 home and small business sites Australia-wide between 2020 and 2022.

In a release to the Australian Stock Exchange on Wednesday January 29th, Simble highlighted the following:

  • Wattwatchers appoints Simble as the first certified third-party app provider for its national roll-out of smart energy technology under the My Energy Marketplace project.
  • ARENA is subsidising part of the estimated $8.2 million total cost of installing 5,000 homes and small businesses, plus 250 schools, with a grant of $2.7 million.
  • Simble and Wattwatchers to target a broader roll-out in the Australian domestic market beyond the ARENA-backed project.
